Hampstead Primary School offers a specialised Physical Education Program, which is relevant, engaging, contemporary, physically active, enjoyable and developmentally appropriate. Integral to Physical Education is the acquisition of movement skills, concepts and strategies that enable students to participate in a range of physical activities confidently and competently.

During Physical Education lessons, students learn and refine fundamental movement skills in a variety of movement sequences and situations, with and without equipment. Students are taught the specialised movements, skills, rules and strategies for a variety of sports. They participate in activities that aim to develop their endurance, ball handling skills and basic movement skills, incorporating elements of effort, space, time, objects and people. Students learn and apply strategies to work cooperatively in group situations and identify rules and fair play when participating in physical activities.

Students are also provided the opportunity to compete at various SAPSASA carnivals against other schools in the Adelaide North East district. These carnivals include; Swimming, Athletics, Soccer, AFL, Netball and more.
